Tour Plan
Lake Nakuru, a small alkaline lake near Nakuru town, lies 160 km north of Nairobi. It’s a popular day trip from the capital or part of a larger circuit including the Masai Mara, Lake Baringo, or Samburu. Famous for its breathtaking flocks of pink flamingoes, sometimes numbering over a million, the park also hosts over 25 rhinos, Rothschild's giraffes, waterbucks, lions, and leopards.
Day Trip Itinerary
- 6:00 AM: Depart Nairobi for Lake Nakuru.
- 9:00 AM: Arrive and enjoy a 2-hour game drive.
- 12:30 PM: Lunch at Sarova Lionhill Lodge or Lake Nakuru Lodge (self-sponsored) and relaxation.
- 2:30 PM: Game drive en route back to Nairobi.
- 6:30 PM: Arrive in Nairobi and drop-off at your preferred location.

It is a great place to shop not too far from New York. We took the bus from Port Authority and traveled through the countryside to get there.
